He also give a sneak peak into some of our future plans for 2024 as well. Podcast can be listened to on YouTube and Spotify

In 2023, we pivoted the explanations YouTube channel away from breaking down demonic and blasphemous themes in your favourite films ,TV shows are comic books with a specific emphasis on Marvel & DC-related media.

Towards finding and elevating Christian creative projects in the realms of comic books & video games. Since making this intentional change, we have reviewed 38 gospel-infused comics this year which you can see our complete list in the first episode of the Podcast.

We also were able to check out 4 different Christian-themed games, which were Bible X: Gate 0, Five: Guardians of David, Light of the World & Armor of God. (Hyperlinks will take you to our gameplay videos for these games. Link to play them yourself will be in the description).

In The Xplanations project front, unfortunately, we lost the source code for our City of David Unreal Engine 5 Replica and The Pilgrims Progress: Apollyon Fight Scene – ARPG Adaptation that we were working on from February to March.

But that is enough reminiscing on the losses let's talk about the gains.

The Real Story: Saint Nicholas (Short Film) Virtual Production project with Revelation Media.

In August Xavier was hired by Revelation Media as a Freelance Environment Artist, Virtual Production Supervisor and Unreal Engine Operator. There is not much detail he can share on the project other than his amazing testimony surrounding the opportunity. It can be found at the 00:21:00 time stamp in the audio and video podcast. Here are some still frames, and Marketing material of the project that as of writing is expected to have a Holidays 2024 release date.

So with those awesome projects covered in 2023 let's talk about what we have in store for 2024 and Beyond....

Adonai’s Arsenal

Think of it as a superhero series, rooted in a fictional take on spiritual warfare built upon intercessory where all the characters are based on a Hebrew or Greek word linked to an aspect of God’s Character (i.e Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi). This means we are taking words such as Rapha, Nissi, Magen, Omega etc. and turning them into codenames & aliases for superhero-style characters that go on 'Spiritual Warfare Missions' referred to as Intercessions in the series.

Stay tuned for more info as we are currently in the early concept phase with the initial 6 character concepts being developed by Ken Bee (@boughtbybloodcomics on Instagram) here is an early concept iteration of the character Omega.

Intercession

Our first true Christian video game that would be available to purchase on digital store front's (primarily a PC release on Steam), aiming for a holidays 2024 launch. Intercession aims to be a rouge-like game rooted in Christian spiritual warfare where players will battle enemies with abilities referred to as spiritual gifts based strictly on Biblical Events, Metaphors and the Spiritual gifts mentioned by Paul in the New Testament. Here’s an early character concept art work piece of Set Apart One by Joshua Paul Whitaker (@falconbread on Instagram). Set Apart One is going to be the main Mascot of The Xplanations Brand going forward and a character in Intercession.

Parables of the Set Apart

A captivating Christian anthology comic book series that superbly combines action-packed spiritual warfare and awe-inspiring testimonies. Follow the turbulent journeys of believers from diverse backgrounds as they courageously fight the good fight, answering the call to be set apart. The series will also be aiming to feature short stories by different Christian creatives as well.

Fight the Good Fight

Fight the Good Fight will be the official name of our Unreal Engine Editor for Fortnite Games as we aim to build out a plethora of gospel-infused Christian experiences that can be accessed by all for free inside of Fortnite. The current goal is to publish 3 more UEFN experiences this year that are fictional takes on Christian Spiritual Warfare.

That’s all we can reveal about our 2024 plans as of writing and we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us in 2023. The Xplanations YouTube channel has grown exponentially this year going from starting year with 500 to ending with just under 4000 subscribers. Here is our #MyYearOnYouTube2023 Graphic emailed to us by YouTube.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE XPLANATIONS
